I am standing for the Youth Mayor of Lambeth because I desire to keep the youth dream alive for those youths who still seek for both opportunity and equality. My motto in life is, ‘‘aspire today, inspire tomorrow’’.
Today I aspire to be Youth Mayor for Lambeth; tomorrow I aim to inspire our future young generation to stand up and be positive and influential role models of society.
I am asking you all to stand with me, so together, we can change the stigma and writing on the wall for this borough, and stop settling for what the world says we have to accept.
We should come together around our common interests and concerns as youths in Lambeth. However, this cannot happen by itself. Change can only come from all of us; from youths within our borough who believe that there are greater opportunities and that life has something better to offer those willing to work towards achieving it.
For example, better facilities within youth centres, such as training schemes that will offer young people qualifications that will stand them in good stead for the future. Also, setting up apprenticeship programmes that will help young people get into the employment of their choice.
I believe I have the ability to build bridges over and across racial and postcode lines, and ultimately motivate and encourage youths to work on common sense solutions to important issues. I believe that there are greater opportunities ahead, and with your support, together we will explore and make use of all those opportunities.
One voice can change a room, and that voice can change a city. I have great faith and optimism in the youths of our borough, because I believe we are the future of Lambeth.
Your voice can change our youthful world. Destiny is not a matter of chance, but it’s a matter of choice, and today, you have that choice. Vote for Samuel Manley so together we can change and transform Lambeth for the better.
